Jumps, raves, and tubs.

Its currently 2am and as I was about to doze off I thought it was vital that I blog about the events of today. I started my day with my one class from 8:40 to 9:40. Then I came home, made my self a peanut butter banana sandwich. Have I lost you? It gets better. Then I headed over to Hukilou which is a relatively nice local beach. We laid out, swam, and played Frisbee. When we got back Matt decided we should go jump off the point. So Amanda and I hastily joined him. This is a video of some unknown person jumping just so you get an idea of what I'm talking about.

My house is literally across the street from this. My view is of the other side of the point. After I jumped I was trying to get up onto the shelf below to climb back up, I was swimming and swimming for a good 30 seconds and not moving anywhere. For about 10 seconds of that time my life was flashing before my eyes. But I successfully made it up. Afterward our fearless leader Matt shared that he had never jumped when the waves were that big before. We can back hot tubed for a bit then went and got Subway for dinner. Next we had some people over and watched the dumbest movie I have ever seen, Shark Night. After that a few of us decided to go to this house music rave dance at the school. It turned out to be crazy fun! Fog machines, lights, strobes, the whole nine yards. We didn't stop dancing the entire time! It was all a little trippy, I can't imagine what that would have been like had I been on drugs...After that we went and got Slurpees and hot tubed! I'd say it was a pretty eventful noteworthy day.

This Summer.

This summer, to put it simply, was not the best. I spent most of my time working at Sonic, babysitting, and cleaning a house. Even if I would have had lots of spare time, most of my friends are gone, or were out of town for most of the summer. After being away, I found it really hard to relate to friends from my past. You can only have the 'tell me about Hawaii' conversation so many times. It was a long 5 months at home and needless to say I am thrilled to be back. This summer did have some redeeming factors. I got to see my family including my sister and her family. I got to eat all the yummy food I had been deprived of. I got to spend time at the lake, and a trip to Utah. I got a much needed break from being a student, because from here on out, until Spring of 2013 my longest break will be 6 weeks. Anyways....my camera is dead and my charger is in Texas so I soon as I get that I will upload some sweet pictures. But for starters...that is my deck overlooking the ocean, so even though I'm poor and basically survive on instant oatmeal, I get over it because I'm living in such an awesome place! So far I've made some awesome new friends and gotten to reconnect with some old ones. Overall its been a great first few weeks.

Vacay to Utah

My family made a trip up to Utah last week. It was pretty fun! On the way up I drove the whole night through and almost hit a huge elk that ran out into the middle of the road. Had I hit it, the car and myself would prolly be no more. We went swimming, out to eat, hiked, and I rode the train to Kelsey and we played around Ogden for a few days! Overall it was enjoyable!

Home for the summer.

This post is obviously a little late, but that is a true measure of just how hectic and busy this summer has been. I almost immediately got both of my jobs from last summer back. I work around 40 hours a week at Sonic, 10 hours a week babysitting, and I've starting cleaning a house every other week. It is VERY rare that I get a day off from all 3 jobs. It is very common for me to get off at Sonic and head over to babysit, I've had several 12 hour days. Which has made me miss my lazy days in Hawaii a whole lot. I'll be back in two short months. I did get to take a week off and spend an entire week at the lake doing nothing with my family, including my new nephew Jaxon. Anyways...I'm pretty much to the point where I'm getting anxious to get back. I just feel like I don't belong here, a lot of my friends are gone, and I don't really have a place at church. It just feels weird living back here again. I'm so excited for Fall! Did I mention that my house is ocean front?! Feel free to come visit! Anyways...I'm done rambling and bragging for now.

8. Thrift store shop (I realize this is like putting breathe or eat corn nuggets on this list, but my goal is to actually learn how alter the stuff I buy and make my mom fix).

9. For the heck of it lets just list all the stuff I'm going to eat, corn nuggets, mexican food, chickfila, sonic drinks, and waffle house.

10. Sleep in a big bed with a body pillow.....zzz...

11. Dye my hair. (Hawaii has caused my hair to turn to a really light dull brown and I hate it a lot)

There are times in your life when you are going to have to put your heart on the line. Which sounds so utterly cliche it makes sick. But there is some depth to this over used saying. Maybe we should all take heed to these words. When you have waited and waited for something for so long, maybe its time you stop waiting and just got for it. Lay it all out on the line. The opposing party can take it or leave it. But regardless of the choice they make, you know that things will at one point go back to how they were. Don't think for one second that you are not good enough. Or not what they are looking for. They have stuck around this long for a reason. Say something before its too late. Because one day you'll look back and think, "if I had only said something...". If things don't go the way you hope, then you can just take Adele's approach and say "Nevermind, I'll find someone like you, I wish nothing but the best for you, too". Do what ever it is that is going to make you happy. Go on a road trip. Bake something delicious. Rock that old t-shirt with pride. Sing your heart out. And go with what you feel. Because at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself, if I were to go in my sleep tonight, is there anything I have left unsaid? Anything I have left undone? If the answer is yes, you better get your scared butt out of bed and get to cracking. Don't spend a ridiculous amount of time making all the wrong choices before you finally get around to making the right one. My last words of advice would be, don't wait.

Eternal Perspective

I have always had the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but there are times in my life when I have seen it in action, and really received a much better understanding of the truth. A good friend of mine, lost their mother recently. I cannot imagine the immediate horror of loosing my mother. After thinking about the situation for awhile I became very grateful for my knowledge of eternal families. I have an eternal perspective. Now this does not mean that I wouldn't shed a tear over the death of a loved one, but that I would find comfort in knowing that after this life, I will have an eternity to spend with them. Japan had an 8.9 Earthquake today, which is causing a huge Tsunami to hit Hawaii. I've currently got my 72 hour kit and I'm sitting in my friends room upstairs just waiting to die. Its 1:29 am. I am not excited about my birthday. Growing up birthdays meant going to dances, getting to date, getting to pick where we at out, presents, and attention mostly. Now its quite different. From here on out there aren't really any advances of awesome things to do, only more and more responsibility. What I'm saying is that I don't want to get old. 19 is not old at all, but it is a step closer. Yes of course I am being over dramatic, its what I do. I like being independent, I have always been a little more independent than those my same age. But 19 years old? Thats just crazy talk. From this point on in my life, change will be the norm. Seriously, my dad is the best. He sent me chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day. Who even thought that was possible!? I said to Sosha, "I never want a Valentine thats not my dad". Which now that I think about may not be entirely true, but it does have a lot of truth to it. I want a valentine who is just like my dad. Funny, hardworking, priesthood holder, thoughtful, loving and genuine. I remember one Valentines day, I was around 14 or 15 and I was just hanging out at the house that night, and dad came and asked me if I would go get ice cream with him. So we went to Coldstone and got ice cream and sat and talked. It was the cutest thing. I love my dad so much. I hope that I can find a husband who is just like him, I want my children to be raised by the kind of dad I was raised by.

My Grandma rocks.

This is June, my Grandma, working out in the rain! She is my hero!! Years ago she was hit by a drunk driver and the doctors found cancer in her brain. The went in and did surgery and all that medical stuff I don't really remember, but it was awful, she went through kemo-therapy, the whole bit. The doctors told her she would never walk again. Now she walks with a walker, but just for balance. She works out everyday! She is an amazing woman! I couldn't have asked for a better woman to come into my life!

Laie Falls Hike

I officially hate hiking. Sosha, Amanda, and I all decided to hike to Laie Falls on Monday. The way up had incredible views! After an hour or so we all about lost it and killed each other, but we finally made it to the falls! The water was freezing, but it felt good after the long hike. It was uphill the whole way up and downhill the whole way back, so it was just easier to run back! It was a good experience but I won't be doing it again for awhile, at least until I block out all the bad parts!

Forever young?

I've re-written this about 5 times now, so I'm just going to come out and say it. I'm seriously thinking about serving a mission. I'll turn 21 a month before I graduate from BYUH. I'd never even thought about serving one, until I came here. There is something about this place. The spirit is so strong everywhere. The temple is always in sight. I knew the second I got accepted here I knew that there was a reason for it. I keep trying to identify the one reason, but now I'm realizing that there have already been a multiplicity of reasons. My life has been touched, and I've touched others lives. I don't know for sure that I'll go on a mission because a lot can happen in 2 years but its definitely something I'm thinking and praying about. I went to mission-prep today, partly because I hate going to sunday school, and partly because I really do want to serve a mission, and it was fantastic. There is a girl in my unit who just turned 19 and she is engaged to be married in the spring. Marriage just seems so far away. Maybe I'll be eating these words before I know it, but really I just don't know that I'm ready for all that so young. I'm not in any hurry to grow up, get married, and have babies. I want all of those things and more, just not yet. I'm already growing up much to fast for my liking. Some people talk about being young forever, thats awfully dramatic, I just don't want to settle down anytime soon. I'd like to get a good education, serve a mission, and travel the world first.

Hanging out with Maggie over the break was the best. Due to the fact that I hate texting *gasp* and she hates talking on the phone, our interaction when I was at school was sucky. But when we are together its magical, like fairies or how snooki gets her hair so big. We did a photoshoot together because we haven't ever done just a best friend one before. For a 20 minute shoot and our short attention spans I think they turned out pretty awesome! Thanks Jenni for putting up with us!

Let me start by saying that Leighana is one of the sweetest people I know. She sent me the new Taylor Swift CD and a cute little note in which she referred to her as a T-Swizzle! Leighana reminds me a lot of my self, and I how I was growing up. She is abosultely gorgeous. She is one of those girls who can rock jeans and a tshirt and still look freakin cute. She is an avid blogger and makes me want to keep up with mine that much more. She will be amazing at whatever she decides to do! She is an awesome photographer! She is super thoughtful and always there to listen! She has every quality you would want in a best friend, trustworthy, fun to hang out with, thoughtful, and hilarious! As if I wasn't blessed enough to be able to attend school in Hawaii, the temple is being rededicated while I am here. The open house has been going to for awhile and they asked for volunteers to come clean at night after all the tour had been given. We showed up last night ready to work and we were given a really neat tour where our tour guide shared a lot of personal experiences and told us about a lot of detail that normal due to time constraints is not normally shared. We got to see the bride's room which was absolutely beautiful. I am not interested in getting married anytime soon but it was a great feeling to know that I one would prepare to get sealed for all time and eternity in that very room. We were taken through the rest of the temple and it was stunningly perfect. All of the rooms were so beautiful. I cannot wait until the temple is dedicated so I can regularly go do baptisms for the dead. I was asked to clean the inside of the temple. We went and wiped down everything in the kitchen to the cafeteria which took about 10 minutes, and then the four of us were given a private tour of the temple presidents office, the matrons office, the nursery, the children's room, and the rooms where temple workers are trained. It was such a great experience. As beautiful and perfect as the temple was, you could tell that it was not yet dedicated. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am without doubt that this place is exactly where I am supposed to be.

I hate the the older I get the more spread apart the people I love get from me. I miss home. I miss my mom. I miss redbox nights and chickfila for breakfast. And her amazing ability to make anything and do anything for anyone. I miss my dad. I miss how excited he gets about fishing tournaments and how on Sunday mornings he always tells me how pretty I look. I miss Jared & Olivia and how their love just makes you smile. I miss Jen and her family. I hate that I'm missing her kids growing up. I miss Grant. I miss going and laying in his bed and wrestling with him. I miss Ben. I miss how no matter what at the end of the day Ben is always there to give you a little Ben hug, and somehow it just makes everything better. I miss my Grandparents and hate that my time with them is so limited. I miss Grandpa and his crazy stories and vulgarities. I miss Grandma and her ability to make amazing food and always give out compliments and make you feel like a million bucks. I miss Papa and his big belly and his smile that breaks through the grumpy old man. I miss June and her willingness to always serve those around her. I miss Ashley and how she has always been there for me to talk everything out. I miss bonfires, long talks, driving around town, hottubing, and as is swimming. I miss the entire Wright family. I miss Maggie and our instant dance parties, snuggle sessions, and our amazing ability to quote movies, songs, and youtube videos. I miss Jenni, I miss coming over even when Maggie was gone and just talking. I miss all the little things. I love being here but everything is changing so fast and its not slowing down. I guess I just have to learn to brace myself for the change and then adjust accordingly. I am so happy I'm here and there is no doubt in my mind that this is where I belong.

I've been in Hawaii for almost a month, and in that time I've realized so much. I thought I could plan my entire future and just insert the perfect man in at the perfect time. Much to my dismay I've found myself pulling out of the mold in my mind. I don't want to be confined to anything. I may very well end up teaching 3rd grade and be perfectly content with that, but I don't have a crystal ball. I've changed things up, my major is now a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). With this my possibilities in the education field are endless. I'd love to teach in another country especially teaching special needs kids. But who knows what I'll be doing in 3 short years from now. But I'm thrilled for whatever the outcome may be. I still hope to plug in an awesome guy sometime down the road, but not anytime soon. It was never part of the plan to be here, I was supposed to be Provo or in some foreign country nannying. But plans change and I'm so happy they do! The Lord has a plan for me and I'm enjoying figuring it out as I go.

Last weekend we went to a bonfire at the beach and after walking forever to the actual location we had a lot of fun! All in all that night we walked about 4.5 miles. For real.

The next day we went to Waikiki for some beach time and a movie! While we were there a random guy came up and asked if we wanted to learn how to surf. CHEYA!

I think I am as qualified to address you as much as any one else is. So here it goes.

Here are my tips to having the best senior year ever.

Take part in everything, peprallies, football games, senior collages,the homecoming dance, senior picnic, prom, a big huge homecoming mum, a game night, a movie night, a drive around Forney aimlessly night, and senior breakfast, don't miss out on anything.
Be happy and take in every single moment because before you know it will be over and everyone will be going in a million different directions, from Hawaii, to Lubbock, to Galveston, to Minnesota.
Skip class and get away with it.
Make your own fun.
Be who you are no matter who you are with.
If it snow a foot and half, invite 20+ people to your house and make them all waffles and hot chocolate, and then when the power goes out play hide and seek for hours at Ethan's house.
Don't eat cafeteria food. But ya'll should know that by now.
And take pictures all along the way.
Love ya'll and make the best of it!

It makes me sick to hear people talk about how much they hate Forney and how they cannot wait to get out, while yes I'm living my dream and going to school in Hawaii, I loved high school and made some awesome memories. Best of luck class of 2011, you'll try to, but you'll never be cooler than us.

I'm getting very anxious to leave, 70 more days and I will be in Hawaii. I thought I had this entire summer to spend with my friends before things changed for good, but apparently I was wrong. There are so many people I haven't even seen all summer that I used to spend every weekend with. It just sucks how things are already changing when we don't have school connecting all of us. I'm just starting to wonder who will even want to see me when I come home for Christmas. I'd imagined us all going out to dinner and catching up and talking about our new experiences with life, how many times we have already changed our majors, new relationships, and talking about old times. But that dinner table just keeps getting smaller and smaller in my mind. I wish it wasn't like that. I miss so much. I miss our crazy times together, all the random stuff we did. Loaded questions, ihop, Waffle House, movie nights, study sessions at Starbucks, shopping trips, school dances, going to Whataburger in the middle of the night, football games, making everyone waffles at my house, PALS trips, all nighters, painting the senior barn, and just saying hi to each other in the halls. I guess high school is over and its time to find out who my real friends are.

The day we have all dreamed of, counted down to, and thought it would never ever come. Graduation is on Wednesday. I'm so excited. Today was my last day of high school. That's it, besides senior breakfast and actual graduation, I'm done. No more high school. No more school dances, no more ridiculous homecoming mums, no more crowded halls, and lastly no more seeing the people I love everyday. It seems like just yesterday we were little kids trying to be cool. I want so badly to keep a part of everyone with me, but I know that memories will fade and time will pass and in a few short years high school will be one big blur of a care free life. I feel like I have had the best high school experience. I did all the traditional things and I learned a lot of lessons on the way. I'm going to a place where I don't know a single person in a 2000+ mile radius. I'm SO excited but so incredibly scared at the same time. Scared that I'll get homesick. Scared that I'll loose friends that I love to death. Fearlessness right? For everyone that has been there for more along the way I want to say thank you and I love you. I'm so excited to see what everyone is going to do with the rest of their lives. As my parting words of advice, always remember that happiness is a choice, make your own fun,and lastly it's okay to be happy.

Prom was incredible. My mom made my dress and I absolutely loved it! We got all dolled up and headed over to bell park where Stephanie took some pictures! Thanks again! I love them! Next we went to dinner in downtown Dallas at Mi Cocina and then went for Gilado which is Italian ice cream! Oh so yummy! Then we headed to prom and danced the night away! It was so much fun! Lots of laughs and memories made! Then we had a after prom party at Ashley's which was way chill and pretty fun!

I feel so very pleased with my senior year, I feel like I haven't missed out on a single thing. Homecoming, the hug mum, the dance, senior picnic, prom, and many other things along the way. I have the best friends anyone could ever ask for.

While I was 17 I learned some very important lessons, some of which I'll share with you. I learned that if you wear new shoes and walk 2 miles to your destination in Dallas, you will get a really bad blister. I learned that guys will break your heart and learned how to get over heart break. I learned how to stand up for myself and not let people walk all over me. I learned that you can never dream too big, because I never thought I would get into BYU Hawaii, and low and behold, I got in and I'm going! I learned that friends come and go and I learned to be okay with that. I learned that you should never ever speed in a school zone. I learned that there are people in my life who will always be there for me. I learned that its important to be happy and to choose friends that will add to that joy. I learned that giving is better than receiving. I learned that thrift stores are amazing. I learned that the simple things in life are what matters and that while growing up gives you freedom it also gives you more responsibilities. I learned that things aren't always what they seem. I learned that you have to let people make their own mistakes. I learned that having an opinion is important, but I also learned that not everyone cares about that opinion. I learned of the yummy goodness of corn nuggets. I learned that change is both a good and inevitable thing. I learned that sometimes you just have to let it go. I learned that if you show people the real you, they will love you for you.

Belated Snow

It snowed like crazy in Texas a while back. I'd never seen real snow until this winter. I had a blast for those days. Thursday I looked outside saw the snow and decided school was for losers and skipped. Everyone came over to my house for a little while to play in the snow and I made waffles for all 20 something of them. Then a couple of us went and found some hills and went sledding. That afternoon we all went and rode 4 wheelers at Ethan's and had massive snowball fights which always seemed to start with one of the guys saying, "Girls against guys, lets go!" and then the girls failing miserably. Our street lost power so that night at Ethan's we played hide and seek in his powerless house. It was so much fun! When you grow up, you forget how much fun a simple game of hide and seek can be. The next few days were pretty much the same, just tons and tons of fun in the snow! But after a few days of playing in it, I was done. I guess its a good thing I'm going to BYU Hawaii and not up north! I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the snow around my house. I love them! They are all here. But I thought I'd post my favorites!

I don't like you, for obvious reasons. Everyone realized you are worthless and saw all those reasons. And in that time that they were seeing clearly, we had a blast. I haven't had that much fun and been that comfortable and open in a very long time. Without you and your constant put downs I was free to be myself. So it must be your goal to ruin my fun. Thank you. I do not believe for one minute that you have changed, you have just somehow gotten better at hiding your flaws. I have to put up with you until June 2nd. Wait are you even going to make it across the stage that day? hmm.. yea prolly not. I'd love to see the day that the kid with all the potential in the world thinks about someone other than himself and actually decides to do something with his life. This year was a year of changes. There's something about the new year that makes you look back and either pat yourself of the back or kick yourself. I suppose I'll be doing both. About this time a year ago I fell for a boy, a boy who changed my life. This boy was smart and nice and we always had fun together. We made each other happy. Call it bad timing, call it dumb teenagers, call it what you want but, things didn't end the way we would have liked. But because of this boy, this boy that walked all over me, I changed. I changed for the better. I no longer let people walk all over me. I don't depend on others for my happiness. And to those few individuals who were there for me through it all, I will be eternally grateful. Those people have some crazy patience, listening, and providing a shoulder to cry on abilities.

I also quit drill team this year. Possibly one of the best decisions I've ever made. You know other than saying no to the non-alcoholic beer at that party. Quitting drill team was so very liberating. It's hard to put my finger on why exactly I didn't try out again, but I'm just very happy that I didn't.

With out drill team I've had time to just hangout with my friends and family, because lets face it, I'm leaving soon...On that note. I haven't made it blog official, mostly because I've been busy and just plain lazy, that I'm probably not going to go straight to BYU in the fall. I want to nanny in a foreign country. From the summer time until December, and then head up to school in January. I want to do this for several reasons, mainly because I think it'll be fun. But there are some practical reasons also. I want to do this because when I graduate high school I will have 30+ college hours, and at the rate I'm going I'll get my teaching degree before I'm 21 and can legally teach. And some money to fall back on for school would be nice. I'm so excited for graduation. I've already starting weeding out my stuff, I even asked for luggage for Christmas. I'm scared to death but so very excited. This year is going to be even better than the one before it. Don't get me wrong I've loved this year. I have the best friends a girl could ask for. I am myself 100% of the time. I don't care about what people think of me. And these have all taken a long time to come to. François de la Rochefoucauld (a French writer with a funny name that I know nothing about) once said, "The only thing constant in life is change". This next year is going to be a good one.

A couple of weeks ago I lost one of my earrings, I came home and I was just wearing one of them. The other day I was sitting on a bench studying (which is why I haven't been blogging lately). There was a fake tree next to me and I looked over and low and behold there is my earring hanging in the tree. Someone had poked it through one of the fake leaves. Thank you kind stranger.
