About Me

My photo
I am Carlie Gilbert. I just recently graduated from Brigham Young University Hawaii. That's right. I lived in Hawaii, which was a dream and half. Now I'm living in Dallas and teaching Elementary School. I would never call myself a fashionista but I do love thrift store shopping or a good retail sale. So this blog is a glace at some of the outfits I have put together. Enjoy!

EFY 2008

This is my company, they are amazing!

The and the bestie! Amber

The lovely boys.

I'm writing most of this from my journal. Okay so Monday morning we flew into San Antonio, we almost missed our flight cause I had my VS lotion and perfume bottles and my bath and body works lotion in my purse so I had to go back and check my carry on, making us almost miss the 45 min. flight. We checked in and after hiking up 4 flights of stairs with ALL of our luggage and walking around aimlessly in the blazing heat looking for our dorm, an entire hour later, we found it. We had a class in this catholic chapel and their was this little prayer kneely thing that pops down from the pew in front of you, so we used it as a foot rest, I know I'm going to Catholic haties. Later there was a dance, I found Ben, my crush from last year at efy. On Wednesday we had games and pizza night/dance party. Thursday was very very spiritual. I learned alot about repentance, I've never really thought the atonement applied to me because I haven't made any major sins or anything like that, but I realized its for everyone! Our session director showed us this song its called I am, it was more than words can describe, me and amber were both balling. I realized that Christ is my best friend and understands everything that I go through, he knows what it feels like to have your heart broken, he knows what it feels like to see those closest to you fall away. We sang the EFY medley and I realized that we have so much work to do and that we are children of our heavenly father who loves us. Testimony meeting was indescribable. The last day was bitter sweet, the banquet and dance was a blast but we had to say our goodbyes. Ah! Our boys sang L-o-v-e to us it was adorable!

  3. No matter where you are..there are hot mormon guys. You just gotta look a little harder sometimes. I know I'm going to sound like a YW leader--but--don't forget the feelings you had at efy (not about the guys) about the gospel. A lot of people don't ever "get it" and you're cool if you're 16 and know and feel what you do. I didn't get it until I was 25 years old and had made a lot of mistakes. It usually takes major sin and repentance for someone to realize what the atonement means to them personally. You're a good girl Carlie. CTR--Return with Honor--Keep the Commandments--Families are Forever...all that stuff.
