My great Aunt LaVerne passed the other day and her funeral was today. We drove to Gilmer and we were talking to all of the older people and if you every have any confidence issues you need to come to one of my family gatherings!
"Carlie! you are getting prettier by the day!" (Funny, I see them like once a year)
"You are so beautiful!" .... yes yes I know...
And my favorite- "how old are you now?" "I'm 16" "Sixteen sixteen kisses boys trying to find the right one" (thats not exact but it was hilarious!)"
"You look just like your Mama" (I love to hear that! my mama[grandmother] passed away about 9 years ago, she is so pretty, she was an amazing women)
Theres more but I'm not going to go on.
She was buried in the Enoch cemetery, which is were all my dads side is buried and I know your typically supposed to be buried with husband and his family, but thats not going to fly with me. Sorry future husband! I called it first! (I guess its a little irreverent to call a grave). But this cemetery is way cool it was like this big Mormon community and on all the headstones they have families are forever and stuff like that. And a bunch of the peoples names are after church leaders, there was a Joseph Fielding Smith and a John Taylor and a bunch others, How cool is that?!?
Now you all think I'm all Gothic and grotesque.
I just think that the fact that familes can be together forever is amazing!
It was a really nice day.
